Project Overview

A new relaxed environment opens in Westminster, Central London. The scheme was in part converted from an old retail space to provide eat in and takeaway meat and diary free foods and drinks, for the university campus as part of the Schools’ environmental policy.

Brief scope of works

Early consultation with SOCOTEC Building Control Ltd enabled the application of a floor space factor within the floor area as with the effect of reducing the maximum occupancy of the premises thus reducing the number and/or effective clear width of exits. Adoption of this factor allowed LSE to plan the scheme by retaining the existing building fabric without fear of abortive design work and with efficiencies during procurement and construction.
