Brief scope of works
The new two and three storey academy building in Cranbrook, Kent is now one of the most state of the art learning environments in the area and boasts 69 climate controlled classrooms and offices, which includes eight science laboratories, three art rooms, five ICT suites and the purpose built drama studio with associated car parking, circulation spaces and landscaping.
SOCOTEC Building Control Ltd worked closely with the design and construction teams, at early stages in the pretender and construction processes to ensure compliance matters were closed out sufficiently and diligently both prior to planning applications particularly in relation to fire safety issues around means of escape and during the build with an enquiry into the need for smoke ventilation.
